This 2 days 1 night safari in Selous takes you to one of the most unspoiled national parks in Tanzania, blessed with several species of wildlife and birds, making it one of the must-see destinations in Tanzania. This park is suitable for visitors who are doing the Southern Circuit safari. Apart from the crowded Northern Circuit, Selous offers a pristine experience when it comes to game viewing. Some of the common wildlife found in Selous Game Reserve include giraffes, hippos, buffalo, wildebeest, lions, hyenas, elephants and the rarely seen black rhinos.

Itinerary

Day 1:Pick up and transfer to Selous National Reserve for game drive

Pick up at 5:00 am from your hotel to Selous Game Reserve. Departure from Zanzibar depends on the time after booking the flight (6:00 am/6:30 am/7:00 am). The flight takes about 50 minutes. After arrival in Selous, you will have a full day game drive with your packed lunch until late evening. Dinner and overnight at Selous Safari Lodge.

Day 2:Masai Boma, Boat Safari and Departure to Zanzibar

After breakfast from 7:00 am to 7:30 am, you will visit Maasai Boma, a small village of the Maasai tribe, to witness the Maasai lifestyle and their traditional dance performances. Then, 1 hour boat safari on the Rufiji River, then lunch at the lodge and rest before transfer to Mtemere airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar. 16:00/17:00 Departure to Zanzibar. After arrival at Zanzibar airport, our driver will pick you up from the airport to your hotel.
